The ISCAR 3309394 is a solid carbide milling insert in the HM390 TPKT 1003PDR IC882 configuration, designed for use in helical milling operations. It features a triangular shape with a positive rake angle and a PDR chip breaker, giving it three available cutting edges per insert. The IC882 grade combines AlTiN, TiAlSiN, and TiSiN coatings applied via PVD process, producing a multilayer surface well suited to high-temperature cutting conditions. With a maximum depth of cut of 8.00 mm and a corner radius of 0.80 mm, this insert is built for aggressive material removal in demanding applications.
This insert is intended for machining stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — ISO material groups M and S. It is engineered for right-hand cutting and is held in the cutter body by screw clamping. The insert mounts in cutters from the HM390-10 cutter series, identified by the HELI3MILL platform designation. Typical users include CNC machinists and tooling specialists working in aerospace, medical device, and industrial manufacturing environments where difficult-to-machine alloys are common.
