The ISCAR 3203209 is a SumoCham-series replaceable-tip drill body designed for precision holemaking in metalworking applications. It accepts a range of interchangeable drill-tip inserts, eliminating the need to replace the entire tool when the cutting edge wears. The drill accommodates a diameter range of 0.414 to 0.43 inches and reaches a maximum drilling depth of 3.31 inches, with an 8xD depth-to-diameter ratio. Through-coolant capability channels cutting fluid directly to the tip, supporting chip evacuation and heat management at depth. The 0.63-inch Weldon Flat shank provides positive rotational drive in compatible toolholders. This body is installed and serviced by machinists and tool-room technicians working on CNC machining centers and drill presses.
The 3203209 is suited for production holemaking in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where consistent hole quality and fast tip changeout are priorities. The replaceable-tip design reduces downtime compared to solid-body drills by allowing insert swaps at the machine without re-indicating a new tool. Through-coolant support makes it appropriate for deeper-hole applications where flood coolant alone is insufficient. It is commonly used in job-shop and production environments on horizontal and vertical machining centers.
Accepts FCP, ICK, ICK-2M, ICM, ICN, ICP, and iCP-2M replaceable drill-tip inserts at insert seat size 10. Fits DCN-style toolholders with a 0.63-inch Weldon Flat shank interface.
Installation and insert changeout should be performed by qualified machinists following the machine tool manufacturer lockout/tagout procedure before handling. Confirm shank-to-holder engagement is secure and the Weldon Flat drive screw is properly seated before spindle operation. Verify through-coolant supply lines are connected and pressurized to the machine specification before running at depth. Do not exceed the published maximum drill depth or operating RPM for the selected insert grade.
