The ISCAR 3203006 is a replaceable-tip drill body in the UniSumoCham series, designed for holemaking operations in metal-cutting applications. It accepts interchangeable drill-tip inserts, allowing the cutting head to be swapped without replacing the entire tool body. The drill covers a diameter range of 9 to 9.4 mm (0.3543 to 0.3700 inches) with a maximum drilling depth of 27 mm (1.063 inches), yielding a 3xD depth-to-diameter ratio. A 9 mm Weldon flat shank provides positive drive engagement in compatible toolholders. Through-coolant capability delivers cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone for improved chip evacuation and tool life. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments will find this body suited to moderate-depth hole work in steel, cast iron, and similar materials.
This drill body is intended for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with Weldon flat shank toolholders conforming to the DCNS style. The 3xD drill depth ratio makes it well suited for through-hole and blind-hole operations where moderate depth is required. The through-coolant channel supports high-feed drilling strategies common in production holemaking. Compliance with ISO 13399 tooling data standards allows the tool to be integrated directly into CAM software and tool management systems without manual data entry. This body is appropriate for both job-shop use and high-volume production environments where insert indexability reduces per-hole tooling cost.
Compatible insert styles include FCP, ICK, ICK-2M, ICM, ICN, ICP, and iCP-2M at insert seat size 9. Toolholder style is DCNS with a 9 mm Weldon flat shank.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the Weldon flat shank firmly in the toolholder to the specified clamping torque indicated by the toolholder manufacturer before operation. Verify insert seating and clamping torque on the replaceable tip before each use. Connect the through-coolant supply to the machine spindle coolant circuit according to the machine tool manufacturer guidelines before running the tool.
