The ISCAR 3202508 is a replaceable-tip drill body from the SumoCham series, designed for precision holemaking in metalworking and machining applications. It accepts a range of interchangeable drill tip inserts rather than a fixed cutting head, allowing tip changes without removing the body from the spindle. The drill covers a diameter range of 0.551 to 0.567 inches with a maximum drill depth of 0.83 inches. It features a 5/8-inch Weldon flat shank for positive rotational drive in standard tool holders. Through-coolant capability delivers cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone, extending tip life and improving chip evacuation in deep-hole and high-speed operations. Overall length is 3.51 inches. This tool is used by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
The 3202508 is suited for holemaking operations on machining centers and CNC lathes where consistent hole diameter and fast tip changeover are priorities. The replaceable-tip design reduces downtime compared to solid carbide drills because only the insert is replaced when worn, not the entire tool body. The Weldon flat shank seats securely in side-lock holders commonly found on vertical and horizontal machining centers. Through-coolant support makes it appropriate for materials and depths where flood coolant alone is insufficient for chip control.
Compatible insert styles: FCP, ICK, ICK-2M, ICM, ICN, ICP, and iCP-2M at insert seat size 14. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or primary tool body for use within the ISCAR SumoCham replaceable-tip drill system.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Ensure the Weldon flat shank is fully seated against the flat of the side-lock set screw in the holder before tightening to prevent axial pullout under cutting loads. Verify coolant passages are clear before use when operating with through-coolant. Follow the tooling manufacturer guidelines for insert seating and torque when installing replaceable tips.
