The ISCAR 3202487 is a replaceable-tip drill body from the SumoCham series, designed for holemaking operations in metal cutting and machining applications. It accepts a range of interchangeable drill tips to cover diameters from 0.748 to 0.783 inches, with a maximum drilling depth of 5.98 inches, corresponding to an 8xD depth-to-diameter ratio. The DCN-style toolholder body features a 1-inch Weldon Flat shank for secure, non-slip mounting in standard drill chucks and tool holders. Through-coolant capability is built in, supporting chip evacuation and heat management at depth. Machining professionals and toolroom technicians install this body as the foundation of a modular drill system.
This drill body is suited for deep-hole holemaking in production machining environments, including CNC machining centers and drilling stations. The interchangeable-tip design reduces tooling changeover time by allowing the body to remain in the spindle while only the worn tip is replaced. It is appropriate for use in job shops, aerospace component machining, die and mold work, and general metalworking where repeatable hole geometry and depth consistency are required. Insert Seat Size 19 governs tip selection for this body.
Compatible insert styles for this body include FCP, ICK, ICK-2M, ICM, ICN, ICP, and iCP-2M, all at Insert Seat Size 19. These are part of the ISCAR SumoCham replaceable-tip drill system.
Installation is performed by machining technicians and toolroom personnel on CNC or manual drilling equipment. Before mounting or tip replacement, ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Clean the seat and tip seating surfaces before inserting a new tip to ensure proper seating and runout. Verify shank clamping torque and Weldon Flat set screw engagement according to the machine tool manufacturer specifications before initiating a cut.
