The ISCAR 3202486 is a replaceable-tip drill body in the SumoCham DCN series, designed for precision holemaking in metalworking and machining applications. The drill accepts interchangeable cutting tip inserts rather than a brazed or solid cutting edge, allowing the body to be reused across multiple tool-life cycles. It covers a drilling diameter range of 0.709 to 0.744 inches, reaches a maximum drill depth of 5.67 inches, and achieves an 8xD depth-to-diameter ratio. Through-coolant capability is built in, supporting high-speed metal removal while managing heat at the cutting zone. A Weldon Flat shank with a 1-inch diameter provides positive drive and resistance to rotational slippage in the spindle. Overall length is 8.99 inches. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this tool in machining centers and drill presses requiring consistent, repeatable holemaking performance.
This drill body is suited for production holemaking in ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials in both job-shop and high-volume manufacturing environments. The replaceable-tip design reduces downtime by allowing a quick tip swap at the machine without removing the shank from the spindle. The 1-inch Weldon Flat shank is compatible with standard side-lock toolholders commonly found in vertical and horizontal machining centers. Compatible insert styles include FCP, ICK, ICK-2M, ICM, ICN, ICP, and iCP-2M at insert seat size 18, giving the operator flexibility to select the appropriate tip geometry for the material and application at hand.
Compatible with FCP, ICK, ICK-2M, ICM, ICN, ICP, and iCP-2M series replaceable cutting tips at insert seat size 18. Intended for use in standard side-lock Weldon Flat toolholders with a 1-inch bore. Part of the ISCAR SumoCham DCN toolholder series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all energy sources are locked out before changing tips or mounting the drill body. Seat the Weldon Flat shank fully into the toolholder and torque the side-lock set screws per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify tip seating and runout before initiating a cutting cycle, and confirm through-coolant passages are clear and the coolant supply is active before drilling at rated depth.
