The ISCAR 3202485 is a replaceable-tip drill body from the SumoCham series, designed for holemaking operations in metal-cutting applications. It accepts FCP, ICK, ICK-2M, ICM, ICN, ICP, and iCP-2M insert styles at seat size 17, allowing tip swaps without removing the body from the spindle. The drill covers a diameter range of 0.669 to 0.705 inches with a maximum drill depth of 5.35 inches, representing an 8xD depth-to-diameter ratio. Through-coolant delivery channels high-pressure fluid directly to the cutting zone, supporting chip evacuation and extended insert life in deep-hole operations. The DCN toolholder-style body uses a 3/4-inch Weldon Flat shank for positive rotational drive in standard milling machine and machining center setups. It weighs 0.637 pounds and has an overall length of 8.38 inches.
This drill body is suited for production holemaking in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where consistent diameter tolerance and high penetration rates are required. The replaceable-tip design reduces per-hole tooling cost compared to solid carbide drills by preserving the steel body through multiple insert cycles. Typical users include CNC machinists and tool-and-die technicians running vertical or horizontal machining centers in job shop, aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking environments. The 8xD depth ratio makes it applicable to deeper through-holes and blind holes that exceed standard 3xD or 5xD drill reach.
Compatible insert styles: FCP, ICK, ICK-2M, ICM, ICN, ICP, and iCP-2M at insert seat size 17. Part of the ISCAR SumoCham DCN series. Maximum drill depth range for this body class is 4.5 to 6.0 inches.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Before changing inserts or mounting the body, confirm the spindle is at a complete stop and machine power is in a locked-out state per facility LOTO procedures. Seat the Weldon Flat shank fully into the toolholder and verify the set screw engages the flat before torquing. Confirm through-coolant passages are clear and that machine coolant pressure is within the range specified by the machining center manufacturer before initiating a cut.
