The ISCAR 3202458 is a replaceable-tip drill body in the SumoCham series, designed for precision holemaking in metal cutting applications. It accepts a range of interchangeable drill-tip inserts, allowing the body to be reused while only the cutting tip is replaced. The drill covers a diameter range of 0.531 to 0.547 inches, with a maximum drilling depth of 2.75 inches and an overall length of 5.24 inches. Through-coolant capability delivers cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone, supporting chip evacuation and tool life in demanding holemaking operations. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC machining centers and drill presses.
The 3202458 is suited for production holemaking in shop environments where insert-tip replacement reduces downtime compared to indexable or solid-drill alternatives. The flatted shank measures 0.625 inches in diameter with a shank length of 1.89 inches, compatible with standard toolholding using the DCN A-5D toolholder style. The body length is 3.35 inches. This drill is built to ISO 13399 standards, making it compatible with tool management and presetting systems that support that data format. Typical applications include through-holes and blind holes in steel, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials at production volumes.
Compatible insert styles include FCP, HCP-IQ, ICK, ICK-2M, ICM, ICN, ICP, ICP-2M, and QCP-2M. The toolholder style is DCN A-5D. Designed for use in standard toolholding systems that accept a 0.625-inch flatted shank.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Verify that the insert tip is properly seated and locked before initiating any cutting cycle. Coolant lines should be confirmed clear and at correct pressure before through-coolant operation begins. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and ISCAR guidelines for recommended speeds and feeds for the selected insert grade and workpiece material.
