The ISCAR 3202457 is a replaceable-tip drill body from the SumoCham series, designed for precision holemaking in metal-cutting applications. It accepts a range of interchangeable drill-tip inserts, allowing the technician or machinist to swap worn cutting heads without replacing the entire tool body. The drill covers a diameter range of 0.531 to 0.547 inches, reaches a maximum drilling depth of 1.69 inches, and features through-coolant capability to flush chips and manage heat at the cutting zone. The flatted shank measures 0.625 inches in diameter and is compatible with DCN A-3D toolholder style. Overall length is 4.18 inches.
This drill body is suited for production and job-shop holemaking operations on CNC machining centers and drilling machines where consistent hole quality and fast insert changeover are priorities. The SumoCham platform is a modular system that reduces tooling inventory by allowing a single body to work with multiple insert geometries and grades. Through-coolant support makes it a practical choice for deeper holes or harder materials where chip evacuation is critical. Machinists and tooling engineers working in ferrous and non-ferrous machining will find this body fits standard setups without custom adapters.
Designed for use with FCP, HCP-IQ, ICK, ICK-2M, ICM, ICN, ICP, ICP-2M, and QCP-2M replaceable drill-tip inserts within the ISCAR SumoCham platform. Toolholder style is DCN A-3D.
Installation and insert changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Ensure the flatted shank is fully seated and properly clamped in the toolholder before running the spindle. Verify through-coolant passages are clear and coolant pressure is within the machine's specified range before operation. Follow the machine tool manufacturer's setup procedures and applicable shop safety standards when mounting or changing modular drill components.
