The ISCAR 3201741 is a SumoCham-series replaceable-tip drill body designed for precision holemaking in metal-cutting applications. It accepts a minimum drill diameter of 0.866 inches and a maximum drill diameter of 0.902 inches, with a maximum drill depth of 4.33 inches at a 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio. The 1-inch Weldon Flat shank provides positive drive and resists axial pullout under high feed rates. Through-coolant capability directs cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone, improving chip evacuation and tool life. The body follows the DCN toolholder style and conforms to ISO 13399 standards. Licensed HVAC technicians, machinists, and toolroom professionals working in production or maintenance environments install this type of drill body using standard modular tooling systems.
The 3201741 drill body is suited for holemaking operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where modular, replaceable-tip tooling is specified. The 1-inch Weldon Flat shank mounts in standard side-lock or set-screw toolholders common to CNC machining centers and drill presses. With an overall length of 7.9 inches, a body length of 5.7 inches, and a shank length of 2.2 inches, it fits deep-reach applications without requiring extended-reach adaptors in most standard setups. Compatible insert styles are FCP, ICK, ICK-2M, ICM, ICP, and iCP-2M.
Compatible insert styles: FCP, ICK, ICK-2M, ICM, ICP, and iCP-2M. This drill body is part of the ISCAR SumoCham series and uses the DCN toolholder style. Verify insert style and corner geometry against the specific machining application before ordering.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all energy sources are locked out before mounting or changing the drill body or insert tip. Seat the Weldon Flat shank fully into the toolholder bore and tighten the side-lock set screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Confirm through-coolant ports are clear and unobstructed before initiating a cut.
