The ISCAR 3201364 is an indexable insert drill from the DR-TWIST series, designed for holemaking in metal cutting applications. It accepts replaceable carbide inserts rather than a brazed cutting edge, allowing worn cutting geometry to be swapped out without replacing the drill body. The tool drills to a maximum depth of 2.25 inches at a drill diameter of 0.750 inches, with a maximum achievable diameter of 0.819 inches. The straight cylindrical shank measures 1 inch in diameter and 3.0 inches in length. Coolant-through capability is supported via a 1/4-18 NPT coolant hole thread, making this drill well suited for general-purpose production environments where chip evacuation and tool life are priorities. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in job shops and manufacturing facilities are the primary users.
This drill is intended for general-purpose holemaking where a depth-to-diameter ratio of 3xD is required. The 3/4-inch nominal diameter and straight shank make it compatible with standard toolholders and drill chucks rated for 1-inch shanks. The modular connection size is 1 inch, and the body length is 3.12 inches. It is suited for use on CNC machining centers, CNC lathes with live tooling, and manual knee mills with appropriate toolholding. Applications include through-hole and blind-hole drilling in steel, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials under general-purpose cutting conditions.
Compatible insert styles include SOGX-AL, SOMX-DT, SOMX-GF, and SOMX-HD with insert size code 060304-DT. Drill style compatibility is DR. Designed for use in toolholders accepting a 1-inch straight cylindrical shank with a modular connection size of 1 inch.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in E-stop or lockout/tagout condition before loading or unloading the drill body or swapping inserts. Verify the toolholder bore is clean and free of chips before seating the shank, and confirm runout with a dial indicator before production drilling. Do not exceed the rated maximum drill depth of 2.25 inches without re-evaluating cutting parameters.
