The ISCAR 3200546 is a replaceable-tip drill body from the CHAMDRILL series, designed for precision holemaking in metalworking and machining applications. It accepts IDI-style inserts at an Insert Seat Size 11, allowing the cutting tip to be swapped without replacing the entire tool body. The drill covers a diameter range of 0.433 to 0.449 inches, reaches a maximum drill depth of 1.3 inches, and features through-coolant capability to clear chips and manage heat at the cutting zone. With an overall length of 4.65 inches and a 0.625-inch Weldon Flat shank, this toolholder is built for secure, anti-rotation seating in compatible drill chucks and toolholding systems.
This tool body is used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and turning centers where repeatable, close-tolerance hole diameter is required. The replaceable-tip design suits production environments where insert changeouts need to happen quickly at the machine, reducing downtime compared to full-drill replacement. The Weldon Flat shank provides positive drive and resists pullout under aggressive feed rates. Typical users include machinists and tooling technicians working in job shops, aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking facilities.
Designed for use with IDI-style replaceable drill inserts, Insert Seat Size 11, within the ISCAR CHAMDRILL system. The 0.625-inch Weldon Flat shank fits standard toolholders configured for that shank diameter and style.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered down and locked out before any insert or toolholder work. Ensure the Weldon Flat is properly seated and the set screw in the toolholder is torqued to the machine tool manufacturer specification before operation. Through-coolant connections must be confirmed leak-free and the coolant system primed before running the tool at cutting speeds. Follow the insert manufacturer guidelines for insert seating and clamping to avoid premature tip failure.
