The ISCAR 3104438 is a replaceable tip milling shank from the Multimaster series, designed for use with interchangeable milling tip heads in precision machining operations. The shank features a 40 mm effective projection length and a 12 mm straight shank diameter, giving machinists a rigid, consistent platform for tip-based milling work. Coolant-through capability is built in, supporting chip evacuation and tool life in demanding cuts. The shank body is manufactured from tungsten and uses a T08 neck thread with an 11.6 mm neck diameter. Overall length is 90 mm (3.54 inches). This component is installed and serviced by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians in production and job-shop environments.
The ISCAR 3104438 is suited for milling applications where quick tip changes and consistent gage length are required. The Multimaster system allows the shank to accept a range of interchangeable cutting heads without removing the holder from the machine, reducing changeover time in high-mix or multi-operation setups. The 90-degree shank type and straight shank shape make it compatible with standard collet chucks and side-lock holders accepting 12 mm shanks. This shank is appropriate for both roughing and finishing milling operations across a variety of workpiece materials.
Compatible Multimaster milling tip styles include: BCM-MM, HCE-MM, HCM-MM, HP E90AN-MM-07, MM EB, MM EC-4, MM GRIT-K/P-45A, MM HBR, MM HCR. Toolholder style designation is MM S-A.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom personnel. Before changing the shank or tip, ensure the machine spindle is stopped, locked out, and all stored energy is dissipated. Use the appropriate torque wrench and ISCAR assembly tools when threading the replaceable tip onto the T08 neck to avoid cross-threading or under-torquing. Follow the machine tool builder and ISCAR documentation for clamping force and runout verification after installation.
