The ISCAR 3102110 is an indexable square-shoulder face mill designed for high-accuracy 90-degree shoulder milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built to the HM90 series standard, this cutter accepts five AD 1505 inserts secured by screw-clamping for rigid, repeatable edge positioning. The 3.0-inch cutting diameter and 0.56-inch maximum depth of cut make it well-suited for medium to large face milling passes on machining centers and horizontal mills. The right-hand cutting direction and 0/90 lead angle allow true square shoulders with minimal radial force. Licensed machinists and CNC setup technicians are the primary users of this toolholder.
This face mill is used in production and job-shop environments where square-shoulder profiling, face milling, and step milling are required. The 1.0-inch arbor hole fits standard arbor-style spindle interfaces found on vertical and horizontal machining centers. With a maximum ramping angle of 0.80 degrees, it supports light helical interpolation entries where spindle and fixturing rigidity allow. Typical applications include steel and cast iron workpiece machining in aerospace, general manufacturing, and mold and die production. Coolant-through is not supported on this cutter body.
Designed for use with AD 1505 and HM90 AD 1505 series inserts. Cutter style is HM90 F90A-15; manufacturer catalog number HM90 F90A D3.00-5-1.00. Fits 1.0-inch arbor hole spindle interfaces. No specific machine brand compatibility was provided by the manufacturer for this part number.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Torque insert screws using the appropriate ISCAR key to the insert manufacturer specification shown in the HM90 tooling catalog — do not overtighten. Verify arbor and collet interfaces are clean and free of chips before mounting. Confirm spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cutting specification before initiating a cut.
