The ISCAR 3102080 is an indexable square-shoulder face mill designed for high-efficiency milling operations in industrial machining environments. Built around the HM90 platform, this cutter features a 3-inch maximum cutting diameter, a 1-inch arbor hole, and accommodates 8 indexable inserts for consistent stock removal at a 0/90-degree lead angle. The maximum depth of cut is 0.39 inches, making it well-suited for shoulder milling, face milling, and step milling applications. Inserts are secured via clamp and screw holding method, providing reliable positioning under demanding cutting conditions. Licensed machinists and tooling specialists install and configure this cutter on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This face mill is used in production and job-shop environments where right-hand cutting and square-shoulder profiles are required. The HM90 F90AP platform is a widely adopted insert system, and this body accepts AP 1003 and HM90 APKT insert styles. It is applicable to both ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials depending on insert grade selection. The 0.90-degree maximum ramping angle allows for limited helical interpolation in suitable setups. Typical applications include flat face preparation, shoulder generation, and step milling on horizontal and vertical machining centers.
Compatible with AP 1003 and HM90 APKT indexable insert styles. Cutter style designation is HM90 F90AP-10; manufacturer catalog reference is HM90 F90AP D3.00-8-1.00. Coolant-through is not supported on this body.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians on CNC or manual milling machines. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked out before mounting or removing the cutter body. Verify arbor, adapter, or shell mill holder specifications match the 1-inch bore and keyway dimensions before mounting. Torque insert screws to the tool manufacturer's published specifications using the appropriate Torx or hex key; do not over-torque, as this can damage the insert pocket seating surfaces.
