Product Description

The ISCAR 3101881 is an indexable square-shoulder end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and manufacturing environments. Built on the Heli2000 series platform, this toolholder accepts AD..1505.. and HM90 AD..1505 insert styles, allowing for fast insert changes without removing the tool from the spindle. It features a 1-1/2 inch cutting diameter, a maximum depth of cut of 0.56 inches, and a 90-degree lead angle that produces clean, true 90-degree shoulders. The Weldon flat shank provides a secure, anti-pullout connection in compatible milling chucks and holders. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.

The 3101881 is suited for square-shoulder milling, slotting, and face milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 1-1/4 inch Weldon shank and 4-1/2 inch overall length make it appropriate for standard vertical machining centers and manual knee mills with sufficient spindle clearance. With 4 insert pockets and a maximum ramping angle of 4 degrees, it supports controlled helical and linear ramping entries. The cutter head length is 1.5 inches and the shank length is 2.0 inches. Coolant-through is not supported on this toolholder; flood or mist coolant applied externally at the cutting zone is the standard approach.

Key Features

  • 1-1/2 inch cutting diameter with 90-degree lead angle for true square-shoulder profiles
  • Accepts AD..1505.. and HM90 AD..1505 indexable inserts, secured by screw clamping
  • 4 insert pockets for balanced cutting and higher feed rates
  • Weldon flat shank design resists axial pullout under heavy milling loads
  • Maximum ramping angle of 4 degrees supports helical interpolation entry
  • Certified to AS 9100, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, ISO 50001, and OHSAS 18001:2007 quality standards

Compatibility

This toolholder is compatible with AD..1505.. and HM90 AD..1505 series indexable inserts. It is part of the ISCAR Heli2000 series and carries the manufacturer catalog number HM90 E90AD-D1.5-4-W1.25. Verify insert grade and geometry selection against the workpiece material and operation type before use.

Installation Notes

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety procedures. The Weldon flat shank requires a matching side-lock holder or end mill holder with a set screw aligned to the flat; confirm holder bore size accepts a 1-1/4 inch shank before mounting. Torque the insert clamping screws using the appropriate ISCAR torque key to avoid stripping the screw or cracking the insert. Inspect insert seats and screw threads at each insert change for chips, wear, or damage before reassembly.
