The ISCAR 3101878 is a Heli2000 series indexable square-shoulder end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal-cutting applications. This toolholder carries a 1-1/4 inch cutting diameter and accepts 3 AD..1505 series inserts secured by screw-clamp retention. With a 90-degree lead angle and a maximum depth of cut of 0.56 inches, it is built for true 90-degree shoulder milling passes on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The Weldon flat shank measures 1-1/4 inch in diameter and 2.75 inches in length, providing a positive grip in compatible milling machine spindles. CNC machinists and toolroom operators working on vertical and horizontal milling centers are the primary users of this toolholder.
The 3101878 suits production and job-shop milling environments where repeatable square-shoulder profiles are required. With a 3-flute configuration and a usable length of 1.46 inches, it handles face milling, shoulder milling, and step milling in a range of materials. The maximum ramping angle of 5.3 degrees allows limited helical interpolation entries where the application permits. This toolholder is cataloged under ISCAR reference HM90 E90AD-D1.25-3-W1.25 and is compatible with HM90 AD..1505 insert geometry. Coolant-through capability is not included in this configuration.
Designed to accept AD..1505.. and HM90 AD..1505 series inserts. Compatible with standard 1-1/4 inch Weldon shank spindle pockets and side-lock toolholders used on vertical and horizontal milling centers.
Installation and insert changes should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Torque insert-retention screws using the appropriate ISCAR torque key for the AD..1505 insert size. Confirm Weldon flat alignment with the set screw in the toolholder before tightening to prevent shank pullout under cutting loads. Inspect insert pockets and seating surfaces for chips or debris before each insert index.
