The ISCAR 2850076 is a right-hand indexable internal grooving toolholder in the Top Grip series, designed for precision grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It accepts TGMA, TGMF, and TGMF/P inserts secured by a clamp-style holding method, delivering consistent insert positioning and rigid support during cut. The toolholder features through-coolant capability, directing fluid directly to the cutting edge for improved chip evacuation and tool life. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.22 inches and a minimum groove width of 0.118 inches, it is suited for tight-tolerance internal groove profiles machined by skilled machinists and CNC operators.
This toolholder is configured for internal grooving applications requiring access into bores with a minimum hole diameter of 0.80 inches. The TGI-style head provides clearance geometry appropriate for internal work, and the right-hand orientation suits standard spindle rotation in most lathe setups. The universal primary workpiece material rating makes it applicable across a broad range of materials including steels, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, high-temperature alloys, and aluminum. It is typically installed in production turning environments where consistent groove geometry and coolant delivery are critical to cycle reliability.
Compatible with TGMA, TGMF, and TGMF/P series inserts, specifically TGMF 3 size inserts. Designed as an OEM-specification internal grooving toolholder for use in standard lathe and turning center quick-change or direct-mount tooling systems.
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down the machine and lock out the spindle before mounting or removing the toolholder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped to the tool block or turret per machine manufacturer specifications before engaging coolant or initiating a test cut. Verify insert seating and clamp engagement before running at full feed and speed parameters.
