The ISCAR 2850060 is a right-hand internal indexable grooving toolholder from the Top Grip series, designed for non-face grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It accepts TGMF-style inserts secured by a clamp-style holding method and supports through-coolant delivery for improved chip evacuation and tool life at the cutting zone. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.43 inches and a groove width range of 0.157 to 0.197 inches, this toolholder handles internal grooving in bores down to 1.65 inches minimum diameter. The overall length is 8.65 inches with a 1-1/4 inch shank, making it a direct-fit solution for standard turret and block-style tooling setups. Compatible insert size codes include TGMA, TGMF, and TGMF/P.
This toolholder is intended for internal grooving applications across a universal range of workpiece materials, including steels, stainless steels, cast irons, non-ferrous metals, aluminum alloys, and heat-resistant superalloys, corresponding to ISO material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S. It is suited for production turning environments where tight groove tolerances and consistent insert indexing are required. The through-coolant capability makes it well-suited for deep-bore grooving where flood coolant cannot reach the cutting edge effectively. Setup is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician during turret configuration or job changeover.
Designed for use with TGMF and TGMF/P inserts, including complete insert compatibility with TGMF 4-series and TGMF 5-series. Compatible insert size codes are TGMA, TGMF, and TGMF/P. Part of the ISCAR Top Grip TGI toolholder series.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Before mounting or indexing inserts, confirm that the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is locked in a safe position. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamping screw per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines when securing the insert. Verify through-coolant port alignment with the machine turret coolant supply before operation.
