The ISCAR 2802077 is an external left hand indexable grooving toolholder in the Swisscut series, designed for precision grooving operations on CNC lathes and Swiss-type turning centers. Built on the SCH toolholder style, it accepts SCIL 22 and SCIR 22 series inserts secured by a screw-clamp holding method. The holder accommodates groove widths from 0.02 inches to 0.098 inches with a maximum depth of cut of 0.315 inches. The 0.5 inch by 0.5 inch shank and 4.921 inch overall length suit standard gang-tool and turret setups. Left hand cutting direction makes it appropriate for front-facing or specific Swiss-turn tooling configurations.
This toolholder is suited for external grooving applications across a broad range of workpiece materials, including steel, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, high-temp alloys, and hardened materials, corresponding to ISO material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. It is rated as a multi-use tool and complies with ISO 13399 tooling data standards. Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing toolholders or inserts. Seat the shank fully in the tool block or gang plate and torque the clamping screws to the machine or tooling system specification. Confirm insert orientation and cutting direction match the programmed toolpath before resuming operation.
