Part of the ISCAR MinCut series, it accepts MI.R 10.. and MI.R 8.. insert families and uses a screw-clamp insert holding method for secure, repeatable seating. The toolholder features through-coolant capability with a 0.203-inch coolant hole diameter, directing fluid directly to the cutting zone for improved chip evacuation and tool life. With an overall length of 4.03 inches, a 0.5-inch round shank, and a maximum depth of cut of 0.492 inches, this holder is built for tight-bore internal grooving work on CNC lathes and turning centers.
The 2801631 is suited for internal grooving on a broad range of workpiece materials, including steel, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys, covering ISO material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The MIFH toolholder style and 4.522-inch shank length provide the reach needed for small-bore applications while maintaining rigidity. This toolholder is installed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts or mounting the toolholder. Ensure the shank bore and toolholder shank are clean and free of chips before clamping to maintain concentricity. Connect the through-coolant supply line per the machine tool manufacturer's specifications before operation.
