The ISCAR 2800337 is a right-hand indexable grooving toolholder in the Cut Grip series, GHI style, designed for non-face grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It accepts a broad range of GIFI, GIMY, GINI, GIPI, and TIPI series inserts secured by a screw-clamp holding method. The toolholder handles groove widths from 0.118 inches to 0.189 inches at a maximum depth of cut of 0.177 inches, making it suitable for precise external grooving across universal workpiece materials. With an overall length of 8 inches and a 0.750 inch diameter shank, it integrates directly into standard turning machine tool posts and quick-change holders used by machining professionals.
This toolholder is intended for external grooving applications on turning equipment in production and job-shop environments. It is rated for universal primary workpiece material compatibility, covering material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S per ISO 13399 standards. The center-to-cutting-edge distance is 0.570 inches, and the minimum workpiece and hole diameter is 0.787 inches. Machinists running parts that require external groove profiles, snap-ring grooves, or undercuts will find this holder compatible with a wide selection of standard ISCAR Cut Grip insert geometries including full-radius and standard configurations.
Designed for use with ISCAR Cut Grip insert size codes GIFI, GIFI-E, GIFI-E (Full Radius), GIMIY, GINI-E, GIPI, GIPI (Full Radius W less than M), GIPI (Full Radius), GIPI-E, GIPI-RX/LX, TIPI-MT, and TIPI-WT. Manufacturer catalog number GHIR 19-4.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the machine locked out before mounting or indexing inserts. Secure the toolholder in the tool post or quick-change system per the machine manufacturer torque and clamping specifications. Verify insert seating and screw torque before resuming cutting operations.
