The ISCAR 2500606 is an internal right hand indexable face grooving toolholder in the Heliface series, designed for precision groove cutting on internal workpiece faces in CNC turning and boring applications. The toolholder accepts a 0.118 inch groove width with a maximum depth of cut of 0.236 inches and accommodates a maximum workpiece diameter of 0.98 inches. The clamp-style insert holding method provides secure, repeatable insert seating. With a 5/8 inch by 5/8 inch shank and 5.0 inch overall length, this holder is dimensioned for standard boring bar setups and is installed by machinists and tooling technicians working on turning centers and lathes.
This toolholder is suited for internal face grooving operations on a wide range of workpiece materials, including steels, stainless steels, cast irons, non-ferrous alloys, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials, corresponding to ISO material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. It is typically used in production and job-shop turning environments where accurate face groove geometry is required on bores or internal faces. The multi-use designation allows application across varied component profiles within its dimensional range.
Compatible inserts include GRIP 3002Y, GRIP 3003Y, GRIP 3015Y, GRIP 318-040Y, GRIP 318-159Y, HGN 3002J, HGN 3003C, HGN 3003UT, and additional inserts from the GRIP, GRIP Full Radius, HGN-C, HGN-J, HGN-UT, and HGPL families. Designed as an OEM Heliface series HGH-style toolholder for internal right hand face grooving on turning centers with compatible 5/8 inch by 5/8 inch shank pockets.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians on CNC turning centers or manual lathes. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the turret or tool post locked out before mounting or indexing inserts. Confirm shank pocket dimensions and clamping clearance before installing the holder, and verify insert seating and clamp torque according to the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Do not exceed the stated maximum workpiece diameter or depth of cut to avoid insert breakage or holder damage.
