The ISCAR 2500526 is an external right-hand indexable grooving toolholder designed for precision grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built in the Heli-Grip series, it uses a clamp-style insert holding method compatible with GRIP-3 and HG.-3 insert size codes. The toolholder accepts groove widths from 0.118 inches to 0.125 inches and features a 0.75-inch by 0.75-inch square shank with a 5.5-inch overall length. It is rated for universal workpiece material compatibility, covering a broad range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Machinists and CNC tool-setup technicians rely on this holder for repeatable external grooving with quick insert indexing.
This toolholder is suited for external non-face grooving applications in production and job-shop turning environments. It handles right-hand cutting direction and is compatible with workpieces up to 1.76 inches in diameter. The 0.70-inch back-of-bar to cutting edge dimension and 1.43-inch head length support close-clearance grooving setups. Primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S confirm compatibility across cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, stainless steel, steel, and superalloys. The HELI toolholder style is consistent with ISCAR Heli-Grip system tooling used in standard lathe turrets.
Compatible with GRIP-3 and HG.-3 series ISCAR inserts. Rated for universal primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Maximum workpiece diameter of 1.76 inches. Designed for use in lathe turret systems accepting a 0.75-inch by 0.75-inch shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tool-setup technician with the machine in a full stop, locked-out, and tagged-out condition before mounting or changing tooling. Ensure the shank seating surface and turret pocket are clean and free of chips before clamping. Verify insert seating and clamp engagement before starting the spindle. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and ISCAR tooling guidelines for proper torque and setup procedures.
