With a shank cross-section of 0.750 by 0.750 inches and an overall length of 4.700 inches, it fits standard toolpost and turret block setups common in production turning environments. This toolholder is appropriate for external grooving, recessing, and cut-off operations on both ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine spindle stopped and all axes locked per the machine tool manufacturer's lockout/tagout procedure. Torque the insert clamping screw to the insert manufacturer's specified value using the appropriate Torx or hex key — do not overtighten. Verify tool overhang and shank seating depth against the turret block specification before taking a cut. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before each insert change.
