The ISCAR 2301960 is an indexable grooving and cut-off toolholder from the PentaCut series, designed for external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The holder uses a screw-clamping method to secure PENTA 34 series inserts, providing rigid, repeatable positioning during grooving and parting operations. Key dimensional specs include a 1.5 mm minimum groove width, a 10 mm maximum depth of cut, and a 1.0-inch square shank. The left-hand configuration suits specific spindle orientations and machine setups. This toolholder conforms to ISO 13399 standards for cutting tool data representation. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians working with indexable tooling systems.
This toolholder is suited for external grooving and cut-off applications on conventional and CNC turning equipment. The PCH-style holder accepts the PENTA 34 insert family, covering a range of groove profiles and widths starting at 1.5 mm. It is appropriate for production turning environments where fast insert indexing and consistent cut geometry are required. The left-hand designation makes it compatible with machines that run the spindle or tool post in a left-hand orientation. The 5.5-inch overall length and 4.28-inch shank length accommodate standard turret and block-style tool stations.
Compatible insert families: PENTA 34F-R/L, PENTA 34N-C, PENTA 34N-J, PENTA 34N-PB, PENTA 34R/L-C, PENTA 34R/L-J, and PENTA 34R/L-PB. General insert compatibility designation: PENTA 34..
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the toolholder from the turret or tool block. Seat the shank fully and torque the clamping screws to machine manufacturer specifications before operation. Inspect insert seating and screw condition at each insert change to maintain clamping integrity.
