It accepts DG. 1.. and DG. 2.. series inserts held by a clamp-style clamping mechanism, providing rigid insert retention under interrupted and continuous cutting conditions. Groove width range is 0.075 to 0.098 inches, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.95 mm. The shank is square at 0.5 inches by 0.5 inches with a shank length of 3.95 inches, and the overall toolholder length is 4.7 inches. This holder is intended for machinists and toolroom personnel performing precision grooving and parting operations.

This toolholder is suited for external grooving and cut-off applications in production and job-shop turning environments, including both conventional and CNC lathes equipped with a standard 0.5-inch square shank tool post or turret station. It is particularly applicable where left-hand orientation is required by the machine setup or workpiece approach direction.
