The ISCAR 2301530 is a left-hand indexable grooving and cutoff toolholder in the Do Grip series, designed for precision parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The toolholder uses a clamp-style insert holding method compatible with DG. 14.. inserts, including DGN/DGNM-J/JS/JT and DGR/L-J/JS designations. It accepts inserts producing a 0.055 inch groove width. With a 0.5 inch square shank and an overall length of 4.7 inches, this toolholder suits tight turret setups where rigidity and repeatability are critical. It is intended for installation and use by machining professionals and toolroom technicians.
This toolholder is suited for cut-off and grooving applications in production turning environments. The DGT-style head geometry supports accurate insert positioning for consistent groove width and depth. The 0.5 inch shank height and width make it compatible with standard half-inch tool stations on manual and CNC lathes. Full radius insert use is not supported with this toolholder. It is sold individually and conforms to ISO 13399 cutting tool data representation standards.
Designed for use with DG. 14.. series inserts, specifically DGN/DGNM-J/JS/JT and DGR/L-J/JS designations, as part of the ISCAR Do Grip toolholding system.
Installation is performed by machining technicians and toolroom personnel familiar with CNC or manual lathe toolpost setup. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the toolholder from the turret. Ensure the shank seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before clamping. Follow the machine manufacturer torque specifications for toolholder clamping fasteners and verify insert seating before resuming cuts.
