The shank measures 0.375 inches square by 3.95 inches in length, with an overall length of 4.70 inches. This holder is intended for use by machinists and tooling technicians performing grooving, profiling, and parting operations in production turning environments.

The 2301527 is suited for external grooving and cut-off applications in both production and job-shop turning setups. Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Before mounting or indexing inserts, the machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank squarely in the tool block or turret and torque the clamping screws to the tool block manufacturer's specification — do not use the insert clamp screw to compensate for shank play. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for chips or damage before each insert index.
