The ISCAR 2301431 is an indexable grooving and cut-off toolholder in the Do Grip series, designed for use on CNC lathes and turning centers. It accepts DG. 1.. and DG. 3.. series inserts secured by a clamp-style insert holding method, providing rigid, repeatable clamping for interrupted cuts and high-feed grooving operations. The toolholder has a right-hand orientation and delivers a maximum depth of cut of 0.787 inches with a groove width range of 0.118 to 0.125 inches. The square shank measures 0.75 inches in height and 0.75 inches in width, with an overall length of 5.5 inches. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in production turning applications requiring precise, narrow groove profiles or parting operations.
This toolholder is suited for external grooving and cut-off operations on turning centers, manual lathes, and multi-axis machines in both job shop and production environments. The Do Grip series is a widely used ISCAR platform for precision grooving, and the DGTR style is configured for right-hand toolposts and turrets. Compatible insert styles include DGN/DGNM-J/JS/JT and DGR/L-J/JS inserts. The toolholder does not feature coolant-through capability. It conforms to ISO 13399 tooling data standards, making it compatible with modern CAM and tool management systems that support that standard.
Compatible with DGN/DGNM-J/JS/JT and DGR/L-J/JS insert size codes. Accepts DG. 1.. and DG. 3.. series inserts. MSC/Manufacturer reference number: DGTR/L 19B-3D40.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Confirm the machine turret or toolpost accepts a 0.75-inch square shank before mounting. Ensure the machine is fully powered down and the spindle is locked before changing inserts or adjusting the toolholder. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut, as doing so can destabilize the insert clamp and cause insert fracture.
