Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers.
This toolholder is intended for external grooving and cut-off operations in production turning environments, both job-shop and high-volume manufacturing. It is suited for use with CNC lathes where a 0.75-inch tool block or shank pocket is available. The Do-Grip series is designed for narrow-width grooving requiring tight groove tolerances and controlled chip evacuation. Compatible inserts include DGL 1400JS-15D, DGL 1402J-8D, DGN 1402J, DGR 1400JS-15D, and DGR 1402J-8D, all from ISCAR's DG insert family. No coolant-through capability is present on this model.
Compatible with ISCAR DG-series inserts including DGL 1400JS-15D, DGL 1402J-8D, DGN 1402J, DGR 1400JS-15D, and DGR 1402J-8D. Compatible insert size codes are DGN/DGNM-J/JS/JT and DGR/L-J/JS. Fits standard 0.75-inch square shank tool blocks on CNC turning centers.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Power down the machine and engage the e-stop before seating or changing inserts. Verify the shank pocket dimensions match the 0.75-inch shank before mounting, and ensure the clamp screw is torqued according to the machine tool manufacturer's specification. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut of 0.591 inches, and confirm insert grade selection is appropriate for the workpiece material before starting the cut.
