The ISCAR 2301402 is an indexable grooving and cut-off toolholder from the Do-Grip series, designed for external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It accepts DGN-style inserts secured by a clamp-style holding method, providing rigid, repeatable insert positioning. The toolholder handles groove widths from 3 to 3.18 mm and supports a maximum depth of cut of 20 mm. The square shank measures 25 mm x 25 mm with an overall length of 140 mm. Right-hand orientation and compatibility with the DGT toolholder style make this a standard choice for production turning environments where grooving and parting operations are performed by machinists and CNC operators.
This toolholder is suited for external grooving and cut-off applications in both job-shop and production turning environments. It is most commonly installed on CNC lathes equipped with standard square-shank tool blocks or turret stations that accept 25 mm shanks. The Do-Grip series is engineered for operations requiring consistent groove width control and reliable chip management during parting and profiling passes. No coolant-through capability is present on this holder, making it appropriate for flood-coolant or dry-machining setups where through-tool coolant is not required.
Compatible inserts include DGN 3000P, DGN 3002Z, DGN 3003UA, DGN 3003UT, DGN 3100JS, DGN 3102C, DGN 3102J, DGN 3102JT, DGN 3202J, DGNC 3102C, DGNM 3202C, and DGNM 3202J. Compatible insert size codes are DGN/DGNM-J/JS/JT and DGR/L-J/JS.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or changing the toolholder in the turret. Verify the tool block or turret pocket is clean and dimensionally correct for a 25 mm square shank before clamping. Follow the machine tool manufacturer torque specifications for turret clamping fasteners and confirm tool offset data is entered in the control before resuming operation.
