The ISCAR 2301373 is a right-hand indexable grooving and cutoff toolholder designed for external turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built to the Do-Grip series standard and catalogued as DGTR 25.4-5, this toolholder accepts DG-series GRIP inserts via a clamp-style insert holding method. It handles groove widths from 0.189 to 0.197 inches, making it suited for close-tolerance grooving and parting-off applications. The shank measures 1.0 inch square in cross-section and 4.7 inches in length, with an overall tool length of 6.0 inches. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists are the primary installers of this toolholder.
This toolholder is intended for external grooving and cutoff operations in both production and job-shop environments. Its 1.0-inch square shank fits standard turning center tool stations that accept that shank size. The DGTR 25.4-5 catalog designation and ISO 13399 compliance make it straightforward to integrate into tool management and presetter systems. It does not support coolant-through delivery, so flood or mist coolant must be directed externally. The 1.3-inch head length provides adequate clearance for most standard grooving depths associated with the compatible insert sizes.
Compatible insert size codes include DGN-LF/LFT, DGN-MF, DGN-P, DGN-UT/UA, DGN-WP, DGN-Z, DGN/DGNC/DGNM-C, DGN/DGNM-J/JS/JT, DGR-P, DGR-WP, DGR-Z/ZS, DGR/L-C, DGRC/LC-C, and DGR/L-J/JS. Specific compatible insert part numbers include DGL 1001J-8D, DGL 1400JS-15D, DGL 1402J-8D, DGL 2200JS-15D, DGL 2200JS-6D, DGL 2202C-6D, DGL 2202J-6D, DGL 3100JS-15D, DGL 3100JS-6D, DGL 3102C-15D, DGL 3102C-6D, DGL 3102J-15D, DGL 3102J-6D, DGL 4003C-4D, DGL 4003J-4D, DGL 5003C-4D, DGL 5003J-4D, and DGL 630. Insert seat size is 0.2 inches.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts and before mounting the toolholder in the turret or toolpost. Ensure the shank seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before clamping. Coolant-through is not supported on this holder, so verify that external coolant lines are positioned to direct flow to the cutting zone.
