The ISCAR 2301283 is a right-hand indexable grooving and cut-off toolholder in the Do Grip series, designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the DGTR 19-2 specification, it accepts DG. 1.. and DG. 2.. series inserts secured by a clamp-style holding method. The toolholder features a 0.75-inch square shank and an overall length of 4.5 inches, making it suitable for a wide range of turning machine tool posts and turrets. Groove widths from 0.075 to 0.098 inches are supported, giving machinists a precise range for narrow grooving and parting applications.
This toolholder is intended for use in metal cutting environments where consistent groove geometry and secure insert clamping are required. It is well-suited for production turning on both CNC and manual lathes performing external grooving, profiling, and cut-off operations. The Do Grip system is commonly found in job shops and production machining facilities handling steel, stainless steel, and other common workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this toolholder in shop-floor turning applications.
Compatible with DG. 1.. and DG. 2.. series inserts. Supported insert size codes include DGN-LF/LFT, DGN-MF, DGN-P, DGN-UT/UA, DGN-WP, DGN-Z, DGN/DGNC/DGNM-C, DGN/DGNM-J/JS/JT, DGR-P, DGR-WP, DGR-Z/ZS, DGR/L-C, DGRC/LC-C, and DGR/L-J/JS. Toolholder style is DGT within the Do Grip series.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the toolholder from the turret or tool post. Ensure the shank seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before clamping. Insert replacement should be done with the machine stopped, using appropriate torx or hex keys per the machine tool manufacturer's insert clamping procedure.
