The ISCAR 2300912 is a right-hand indexable cutoff toolholder designed for precision parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the SGTH toolholder style, it accepts Self Grip series inserts and clamps them securely using a self-grip holding method that eliminates the need for clamping screws. The holder accommodates workpieces up to 1.18 inches in diameter and accepts inserts ranging from 0.079 inches to 0.094 inches in width. With an overall length of 4.33 inches and a blade width of 0.063 inches, it delivers a rigid, low-profile setup suited to tight clearance cutoff work. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this holder in standard square shank tool stations.
This toolholder is suited for cutoff and parting applications in production turning environments, including both manual turret lathes and CNC turning centers. The compact head dimensions — 0.62 inches in height and 0.71 inches in length — make it appropriate for machines with limited cross-slide clearance. The 0.5-inch shank height and 0.375-inch shank width fit standard rectangular boring bar pockets and quick-change tool posts commonly found in light to mid-size turning equipment. No coolant-through capability is present on this holder.
Compatible with GTN 2.., GTN 2.4.., GTR 2.., and GTR 2.4.. series inserts. Designed as an OEM-style indexable toolholder for use in rectangular shank tool stations with a 0.5-inch by 0.375-inch shank pocket. Also identified under manufacturer reference number SGTHR 12.7-2.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the toolholder from the turret or tool post. Verify shank pocket dimensions match the 0.5-inch height and 0.375-inch width before seating the holder. Insert indexing requires no tools with the self-grip clamping method — follow the insert manufacturer's procedure for seating and releasing inserts to avoid damage to the grip pocket.
