The ISCAR 2300901 is a left-hand indexable cutoff toolholder designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the SGTH toolholder style, it accepts GTL 3.. and GTN 3.. series inserts using a Self Grip insert-holding method, eliminating the need for clamping screws. The holder features a 1 inch square shank (1 inch height by 1 inch width) and an overall length of 5.9 inches. Maximum depth of cut is 0.98 inches, supporting cut-off work on workpieces up to 2.05 inches in diameter. Blade width measures 0.094 inches. This toolholder is intended for use by machinists and CNC lathe operators in production and job-shop environments.
The 2300901 is suited for cut-off and parting applications on small to medium-diameter bar stock in both manual and CNC lathe setups. The left-hand orientation positions the cutting edge for specific spindle-direction and turret-position requirements common in gang-tooling or rear-turret configurations. Compatible insert size codes GTL 3.. and GTN 3.. cover a range of grooving and parting insert geometries within the Self Grip series, giving the operator flexibility in chip control and edge geometry selection. This holder does not include coolant-through capability.
Designed for use with GTL 3.. and GTN 3.. series indexable inserts in the ISCAR Self Grip system. MSC/Manufacturer cross-reference number: SGTHL 25.4-3.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the lathe powered down and the spindle locked before toolholder mounting or insert indexing. Secure the shank firmly in the turret or toolpost to the machine manufacturer's specified clamping torque using appropriate toolpost hardware. Verify insert seating and Self Grip retention before resuming cutting operations. Follow the machine tool manufacturer's guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures during setup.
