The IO HVAC CONTROLS TD-1816-BM is an 18 x 16 inch rectangular zone damper designed for use in residential and light commercial HVAC zoning systems. It ships with a Belimo 3-wire actuator that operates on a 60-second run time and is mounted to the bottom of the damper assembly. The bottom-mount configuration positions the actuator below the ductwork, which simplifies access in tight mechanical spaces. This unit is built to integrate with Trane and American Standard zoning systems and is installed by licensed HVAC technicians during zone control upgrades or new zoned-system installations.
This damper is intended for rectangular duct runs in forced-air systems where individual zone control is required. It is compatible with Trane and American Standard zone control panels and is a drop-in style replacement for existing rectangular dampers of the same nominal size. Typical applications include residential multi-zone systems and light commercial split systems where separate conditioned spaces require independent temperature control. The bottom-mount actuator placement suits installations where overhead clearance above the duct is limited.
Designed for use with Trane and American Standard rectangular duct zoning systems. Sized for 18 x 16 inch rectangular duct openings. Verify zone control panel wiring requirements against the Belimo 3-wire actuator specifications before installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with low-voltage zoning controls and duct modification work. Power down the air handler and zone control panel before mounting the damper or making any wiring connections to the actuator. Secure the damper to the duct using sheet metal screws and seal all edges with foil-backed tape to prevent air bypass. Confirm actuator travel direction and end-stop positions match the zone controller output before returning the system to service.
