The IO HVAC CONTROLS EB-2010 is a heavy-duty motorized bypass damper designed for use in forced-air HVAC zoning systems. It automatically redirects conditioned air back to the return side of the system when zone dampers close, preventing pressure buildup and protecting air-handling equipment. Sized at 20 x 10 inches, the EB-2010 is built for demanding residential and light commercial applications where reliable airflow management is critical. Licensed HVAC technicians typically specify this component as part of a multi-zone duct system to maintain proper static pressure balance across all operating conditions.
The EB-2010 is suited for installation in residential multi-zone forced-air systems and light commercial applications that require active bypass control. It fits into a bypass duct run connecting the supply plenum back to the return plenum or air handler cabinet. The motorized actuator opens the damper blade in response to zone valve closures, allowing the air handler or furnace to continue operating at rated airflow without over-pressurizing the supply trunk. This makes it appropriate for systems using multiple zone dampers controlled by a central zoning panel.
Designed as an OEM-style motorized bypass damper for use in residential and light commercial forced-air zoning systems requiring a 20 x 10 inch bypass damper installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with duct zoning systems and low-voltage control wiring. Shut down the air handler or furnace and de-energize the zoning control panel before wiring the actuator. Ensure the bypass duct is properly sized and sealed to minimize air leakage at the damper connection points. Follow local mechanical codes and the zoning system manufacturer's wiring diagram when connecting the actuator to the control panel.
