The INTERMATIC scg25k is a salt chlorinator system designed for inground pools up to 25,000 gallons. It generates chlorine electrochemically using a quick-connect titanium cell, eliminating the need for manual chlorine dosing. The power pack uses an isolation transformer design with IP34 ingress protection and internal over-temperature protection. Input voltage is selectable at 115 or 230 VAC, 50/60 Hz, drawing 0.7 to 1.4 amps depending on configuration. A self-regulating circuit manages high-salt conditions automatically, and polarity-reversing cycles run every 4 to 10 hours to keep the cell clean. Licensed pool service technicians and electricians are the primary installers of this system.
The scg25k is suited for residential inground pool installations where a permanent salt chlorination system is required. It supports water temperatures between 50 degrees F and 104 degrees F, making it appropriate for year-round operation in most climates. The power center mounts via a bracket or post with flat panel and is rated for outdoor installation. The kit includes an acrylic weather shield, flow switch, cleaning cap, mounting bracket, wall anchors, and screws, reducing the need for additional hardware at rough-in. The cell installs in either a vertical or horizontal orientation to accommodate existing plumbing layouts.
Designed as an OEM-style salt chlorination solution for inground pools with a capacity up to 25,000 gallons, compatible with 115 VAC or 230 VAC electrical services at 50 or 60 Hz.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician and a qualified pool service technician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements and local pool equipment codes. Shut off all power to the pool equipment panel before wiring the power center, and confirm the neutral connection is present as required by this unit. Mount the power center and cell plumbing union before making any electrical terminations, and verify flow switch operation prior to startup. Do not operate the cell dry or without confirmed water flow through the cell body.
