The INTERMATIC IOSCMPU is a commercial-grade, line-voltage passive infrared (PIR) occupancy sensor designed for ceiling-mount installation. It controls lighting systems by detecting occupancy and responding to ambient light levels. When motion is detected, the sensor switches lights on. After a user-specified period of no detected movement, it switches lights off. The IOSCMPU delivers a full 360-degree coverage pattern covering up to 1,200 square feet, making it well suited for open commercial spaces where consistent, hands-free lighting control is required. Licensed electricians and facilities technicians are the primary installers of this device.
The IOSCMPU is intended for commercial interior environments where line-voltage occupancy control is required. Typical applications include offices, conference rooms, restrooms, storage areas, and similar spaces where automatic lighting shutoff supports energy codes and operational efficiency. The ceiling-mount configuration provides unobstructed 360-degree detection across the coverage area. The white finish is standard for drop-ceiling and drywall ceiling installations. The sensor operates on line voltage, eliminating the need for a separate low-voltage power supply or control transformer.
Designed as an OEM-style line-voltage ceiling-mount PIR occupancy sensor for commercial lighting control applications.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit at the breaker panel and verify the absence of voltage before beginning any wiring work. The sensor mounts to a standard ceiling electrical box; confirm box type and depth before installation. Do not install in locations exposed to moisture, direct airflow from HVAC diffusers, or heat sources, as these conditions can cause false triggering or reduced sensor accuracy.
