The INTERMATIC 7402B is a 7-day mechanical time switch designed for indoor electrical load scheduling in commercial and residential applications. Rated for 208-277 VAC at 60 Hz, it controls up to four independent circuits through a 4-SPST switching configuration, with load capacity of up to 40 amps per circuit. The unit ships with separate terminals for powering the clock motor independently from the switched load, simplifying wiring and protecting motor operation. A gray metal enclosure provides durability in indoor environments. Licensed electricians and facilities maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this switch type.
The 7402B is suited for indoor lighting control and on/off scheduling applications where a different operating schedule is required for each day of the week. The 7-day mechanical tripper system allows at least one ON and one OFF event per day, with 7 ON and 7 OFF trippers included. Its 4-pole design supports controlling up to four loads from a single clock, reducing the number of devices needed in multi-circuit timer installations such as commercial lighting panels, pump systems, and HVAC accessory loads.
Designed as an OEM-style mechanical time switch for indoor 208-277 VAC, 60 Hz electrical systems requiring 4-pole, 7-day scheduling control.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize all circuits at the breaker panel before wiring the time switch. Connect the clock motor terminals to a separate unswitched power source as intended by the terminal layout to ensure continuous clock operation. Verify load amperage on each circuit does not exceed the 40-amp rating before commissioning.
