The INTERMATIC 173CR is a 24-hour mechanical time switch designed for commercial and industrial scheduling applications. It controls electrical loads up to 40 amps per pole and operates on 120 VAC at 60 Hz with a DPST switch configuration. The unit supports up to 10 ON/OFF settings per day and includes a skip-a-day function, allowing operators to omit scheduled cycles on days when loads are not needed. A spring-wound carry-over backup maintains schedule integrity for up to 16 hours without power, restoring at a rate of 1 hour for every 2 hours offline. The enclosure is an outdoor-rated Type 3R metal housing suitable for exposed installations.

The 173CR is appropriate for a wide range of load types across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Installation Notes

Verify load amperage does not exceed the 40-amp-per-pole rating before energizing the circuit.
