The IMPORT MSCD040200 is a metric machine screw with a cheese head and slotted drive, manufactured from Grade 4.8 steel with a zinc-plated finish. The M4x0.7 thread and 20 mm length under head make this fastener well suited for general mechanical assembly applications where a low-profile, flat-topped head and simple screwdriver installation are required. The zinc coating provides basic corrosion resistance in indoor and light-duty environments. This screw conforms to DIN 84 and ISO 1207 dimensional standards, ensuring dimensional consistency with metric tooling and gauging used across industrial, HVAC, and electrical panel assembly work.
This fastener is used in light to medium-duty mechanical assemblies where a metric M4 thread is specified. Typical applications include mounting components inside electrical enclosures, HVAC equipment panels, control boxes, and general sheet metal or machined-part assemblies. It is installed by technicians and assemblers using a standard flat-blade screwdriver or slotted bit. The cheese head geometry provides a larger bearing surface than a pan head while keeping a straight cylindrical sidewall, useful in close-tolerance counterbored or clearance holes. Sold in a minimum order quantity of 50 pieces.
Designed as a standard metric replacement or stock fastener for any application requiring an M4x0.7 cheese head slotted machine screw conforming to DIN 84 or ISO 1207 specifications.
Installation is performed with a flat-blade screwdriver or slotted power bit sized for an M4 cheese head screw. Ensure the mating thread or nut is also M4x0.7 metric pitch before installation. Do not exceed the Grade 4.8 rated torque range for the fastener diameter; over-torquing a zinc-plated screw in softer base materials can strip the thread or fracture the head. Inspect the zinc coating for any damage before use in environments where surface corrosion is a concern.
