The IMPORT -20870-C is a Letter C mechanics drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal and ferrous materials. Built from high-speed steel with an oxide finish, it features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking on contact and requires less feed pressure than a standard 118-degree point. The web-thinned geometry further reduces cutting resistance at the center of the bit. At 3.5 inches overall length with a 2-inch flute, this is a compact mechanics-length bit suited for work in tight quarters. Installation is performed by licensed machinists, maintenance technicians, and trade professionals working in fabrication or field service environments.

This mechanics drill bit is rated for use in carbon steel, cast iron, high alloy steel, high tensile strength alloy, stainless steel, and general steel stock. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard three-jaw drill chucks on corded and cordless drills as well as drill presses.
