The HERTEL SZ001IC is a solid carbide abrasive bur in an inverted cone with flat end geometry, designed for material removal, deburring, and surface finishing in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built to industry specification SN-2, this bur features a double cut tooth style that produces efficient chip removal and a smooth finish on a wide range of workpiece materials. The 3/8 inch cutting diameter and 3/8 inch length of cut are well suited to detail work in ports, channels, and recessed cavities. The uncoated solid carbide head delivers hardness and wear resistance without added coating thickness that could affect dimensional precision in tight clearances. The 1/4 inch shank is compatible with standard die grinder collets and rotary tool chucks.
This bur is used in metalworking, tool and die, maintenance and repair, and production deburring operations. The inverted cone with flat end profile is particularly suited for undercutting, countersinking flat-bottom recesses, and cleaning up mold cavities or cast features where a standard cylindrical or ball-end profile would not reach. Machinists, tool grinders, and fabrication technicians working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hard plastics, and composite materials will find this profile useful for detailed interior stock removal and surface blending.

Installation of carbide burs should be performed by a machinist or fabricator familiar with rotary cutting tools. Ensure the machine is fully powered off and the collet is released before inserting or removing the bur. Seat the shank fully into the collet and tighten securely before operating to prevent slippage under load. Always operate within the recommended RPM range for the bur diameter and avoid side loading that can chip the carbide head.
