The HERTEL SZ0014O is a solid carbide abrasive bur with an oval head profile, designed for material removal, deburring, and shaping operations on metal, hardened steel, and other hard materials. It carries an industry specification of SE-7 and features a double cut tooth style, which produces faster stock removal and a smoother finish compared to single cut. The cutting head measures 3/4 inch in diameter with a 1-inch length of cut, and mounts on a standard 1/4-inch shank. The head is uncoated solid carbide, offering consistent hardness and edge retention across the cutting surface. This bur is suited for die grinders and rotary tools used in fabrication, weld cleanup, and tool-and-die applications.
This bur is intended for use in metalworking environments where precision material removal is required. Typical applications include port matching, casting cleanup, weld blending, and mold finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The SE-7 oval profile is commonly selected when working in contoured or recessed areas where a ball or cylinder shape would not reach cleanly. It is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die makers, welders, and maintenance technicians working with handheld rotary or die grinder equipment.
Designed for use in standard die grinders and rotary tools accepting a 1/4-inch collet. Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steel, and similar hard materials consistent with SE-7 specification applications.
This bur is installed by a machinist or technician into a die grinder or rotary tool with a matching 1/4-inch collet. Ensure the tool is powered off and the collet is fully tightened before operation. Always wear appropriate eye protection and gloves when operating rotary abrasive tooling. Inspect the bur for chipping or wear before each use and do not exceed the RPM rating of the rotary tool being used.
