The HERTEL SZ0006O is a solid carbide abrasive bur with an oval head profile, designed for material removal, deburring, and surface finishing in metalworking and fabrication applications. The double cut tooth style generates faster stock removal and produces a smoother finish compared to single cut configurations. The bur features a 1/4 inch cutting diameter and a 3/8 inch length of cut, mounted on a 1/8 inch shank. The uncoated solid carbide head delivers consistent hardness and wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians are the primary installers and users of this tool.
This bur is suited for use in die grinders, flexible shaft machines, and rotary tools accepting a 1/8 inch collet. Typical applications include port matching, weld blending, mold finishing, and deburring of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and cast iron. The oval head geometry allows access to concave surfaces, internal radii, and contoured profiles that flat or cylindrical profiles cannot reach efficiently. It is commonly used in automotive, aerospace, tooling, and general metalworking environments where controlled material removal and surface refinement are required.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement conforming to industry specification SE-51, compatible with die grinders, rotary tools, and flexible shaft machines fitted with a 1/8 inch collet.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a die grinder or compatible rotary tool. Ensure the tool is fully powered off and the collet is completely secured before beginning use. Always verify that the spindle speed rating of the host tool does not exceed the rated speed of the bur. Eye protection and appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn during operation per applicable shop safety standards.
