The HERTEL S-74148305 is a combination drill and countersink designed to drill a pilot hole and countersink in a single pass. It is manufactured from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish and features a 60-degree included angle. The body diameter is 0.25 inches, the drill point diameter is 0.109 inches (7/64 inches), and the overall length is 2 inches. This is a right-hand cut, plain cutting edge tool suited for metalworking, woodworking, and general fabrication applications where countersunk fasteners are required.
This tool is used in machine shops, fabrication facilities, and general trades where a countersink is needed for flat-head screws or fasteners. It is sized as a No. 3 trade size and is intended for use in drill presses, lathes, and CNC machines. The double-end design and non-tapered shank make it compatible with standard tool holders. It is not intended for aircraft-style applications and is not a long-length tool.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for No. 3 combo drill countersink applications requiring a 1/4-inch body diameter and 7/64-inch drill point in right-hand cut, plain-edge configuration.
This tool is installed by machinists and fabricators in drill presses, lathes, or CNC equipment using a standard tool holder or collet sized for a 1/4-inch shank. Ensure the machine is powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the workpiece firmly before operation to prevent movement during countersinking. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the material being worked to extend tool life.
