The HERTEL MR46-1141.563 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machine tool applications. With a 2.9 mm (0.1142 inch) reamer diameter and a diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to +0.0003 mm, this tool holds extremely tight dimensional accuracy for close-tolerance bores. The spiral flute geometry with left-hand spiral direction and right-hand cutting direction helps evacuate chips efficiently and reduces chatter during the cut. Overall length is 75 mm (2.9527 inches) with a 14 mm flute length. The bright, uncoated solid carbide construction is well suited for ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a coated tool is not required. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users.
This reamer is intended for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills where a straight shank can be held in a drill chuck, collet, or hydraulic toolholder. The 14 mm flute length suits shallow-to-medium depth through-holes and blind holes common in precision component manufacturing. The 4-flute configuration provides a stable cutting action appropriate for finishing operations following a rough-drilled or bored hole. It is particularly useful in applications demanding repeatable bore sizing across production runs in job shop or high-volume machining environments.
Designed as a standard straight-shank chucking reamer for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and drill presses equipped with a drill chuck or collet system accepting the straight shank diameter.
This reamer should be installed by a qualified machinist following proper machine lockout and toolholder torque procedures per shop safety standards. Ensure the shank is fully seated and secured in the toolholder before operation. Reamers should only be used to finish a hole that has already been drilled or bored to within the recommended pre-reaming stock allowance — never use a reamer to generate a hole from solid material. Cutting speed and feed rate should follow the tooling manufacturer recommendations for the workpiece material and machine setup.
