The HERTEL MR46-1102.563 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking applications. It carries a wire gauge size of 35, corresponding to a decimal diameter of 0.1100 inches, with a diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to +0.0003 mm for tight, accurate bores. The reamer features a spiral left-hand flute geometry with right-hand cutting direction, a straight cylindrical shank for standard chuck mounting, and a bright uncoated finish. Overall length is 2.9527 inches (75 mm) with a 14 mm flute length. This tool is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on precision bore finishing in production or repair environments.
This chucking reamer is suited for finishing pre-drilled or bored holes to close tolerances in a variety of metals. The solid carbide construction makes it appropriate for harder workpiece materials where high-speed steel tooling may wear prematurely. The spiral flute design aids chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole applications. It is used in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and drill press setups where a straight-shank tool is compatible with the spindle or chuck configuration. Sold individually, it is appropriate for low-volume toolroom use or as a replacement in an existing reamer set.
Designed as an OEM-style precision chucking reamer for use in standard straight-shank chuck or collet toolholders compatible with wire size 35 (0.1100 inch) diameter tooling.
This reamer is installed by machinists in machine tool spindles using a drill chuck or collet rated for the shank diameter. The workpiece should be securely fixtured and the spindle must be stopped before tool changes. Reaming requires a pre-drilled or bored pilot hole close to final diameter — do not attempt to ream from solid stock. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain bore finish quality.
